Since it's inception in 1967, the Canada Games has played a prominent role in developing some Canada's premier athletes. Some of the more notable alumni's to count the Canada Games as one of their first multi-sport experience include Olympic Gold Medallist and Super Heavyweight Champion of the World Lennox Lewis, Hockey Legend Bob Gainey and Scott Tournament of Hearts and World Curling Champion Colleen Jones.
