In 1998, at the age of 13, he captured the hearts of Canadians when he won the gold medal on tower at the Commonwealth Games. Throughout his career, he has 44 national titles and most notably won five medals at FINA World Cups, seven at Commonwealth Games, and five at Pan-American Games. He holds the majority of Canadian Senior Records (1 m, 3m, and 10 m). Alexandre won a Silver medal at 2008 Olympics, and two Bronze medals at the 2009 World Championships. In 2010, Alexandre won a Gold and Silver medal on the prestigious FINA World Series. In his hometown of Montréal, at the 2010 Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix, Alex won two more Gold medals on 3-meter and 3-meter synchro with Reuben Ross. Alex entered the 2010 Commonwealth Games as the two-time defending champion on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards. He left India as the three-time champion on both boards. By winning three more gold medals in India, his career total rose to 9 and Alex cemented himself as the winningest Canadian athlete to ever compete at the Commonwealth Games.
