Canada Games Council Athlete Ambassador Program

Since its inception in 1967, the Canada Games has played a prominent role in developing some of
Canada's premier athletes. Some of the more notable alumni to count the Canada Games as one of their
first multi-sport experience include Jennifer Botterill (Hockey), Jennifer Heil (Freestyle) Chandra
Crawford (Cross-Country Skiing), Colleen Jones (Curling) Steve Nash (Basketball), Marianne St. Gelais
(Speed Skating), Alexandre Despatie (Diving), Tara Whitten (Cycling), Thomas Hall (Canoe), Adam van
Koeverden (Kayak).

Consider booking one of our Alumni as an athlete ambassador for you next company event. In order to
streamline this process, the Council will take your alumni appearance requests and liaise directly with
athletes and their agents.

Some events you may consider booking a Canada Games Athlete Ambassador for include:
  • Autograph Signings
  • Client Functions
  • Corporate Functions & Conventions
  • Corporate Hospitality Events
  • Customer Recognition Events
  • Emcee / Host
  • Golf Tournaments & Other Sporting Events
  • Grand Openings
  • In]school Visits
  • Meet & Greets
  • Personal Appearances
  • Press Conferences / Media Events
  • Team Building Retreats
  • Training Programs & Conferences
  • Pep Rallies
It is important to note some of these athletes are still competing internationally; as a result their
schedules are busy. We will do our best to book the athlete of your choice, however we encourage you
to select third and even fourth choices as backup. Considering the athletes' primary training season can
also help you get the athlete of your choice.

While the Canada Games Council does not charge for this service, the cost for individual athlete
appearances will vary depending on the services booked and the athlete requested. Revenues
generated from bookings coordinated by the Council through our partners will go directly to the athletes
and will be negotiated by Council on a case by case basis.
