August 1 : Top 5 things to do today

The games are here for a good time, not a long time, so you don’t want to miss a minute! Get your tickets before it’s too late.

Hello August, nice of you to join us at the Games. As the stakes begin to rise, so does the level of play and the passion of fans from all across the country. Here’s where you need to find yourself today…

1. Beach please

Dig in, sand, sun and volleyball are one of the hottest tickets of the Games. Head over to Sargent Park Beach Volleyball Centre for all your summer-fun needs. Both the Women and Men are playing Beach Volleyball this afternoon. Get your tickets here.

2. Hurdles and relays and sprints, oh my!

Dash over to the University of Manitoba Stadium to catch Athletics, where you can watch the preliminaries for Men’s and Women’s 200m, 800m and Relays, as well as the final for Men’s Decathlon, Women’s High Jump and Men’s Shot Put. Get your Athletics tickets here.

3. Stay cool at the pool

Jump, dive, spin, rip entry, repeat. Diving continues today with Men’s and Women’s Springboard at the Pan Am Pool. The action begins at 10:00 a.m.

4. Keep calm and sail (or row) on

Near water is the best place to be in a heat wave. Bonus points if you make it to Kenora to watch the Rowing heats or to Gimli to watch the Sailing. Refreshing.

5. When in doubt, pedal it out

Still not sure what to do today? How about heading over to the brand new Bison Butte course to watch the Mountain Bike Relay races? The Women start at 10:00 a.m., the Men at 12:30 p.m.
