I am very excited and proud that this design will be made into a reality and traded by many at the Games,” remarked Suzanne Truong, Great-West Life employee and pin design winner.
Great West Life received more than 70 submissions illustrating a wide range of creativity and artistic merit. Pins will be distributed to more than 6,000 volunteers at the Games.
“Great-West Life has always been proud to a part of the Winnipeg community. Having signed up to be the volunteer sponsor of the Canada Summer Games we immediately began seeking ways that would involve our employees,” said Jay Donnelly, Vice President of Marketing Delivery, Great-West Life. “Knowing how popular pins are in the day to day world of the games, we were inspired to have our volunteer pin designed by one of our own staff. To promote that involvement we built a contest whereby any employee could put forward a potential design. The response was overwhelming and we had many wonderful choices to choose from. With our selected design heading into production, I know that our whole team feels proud to be represented in this unique and inspiring way.”
