The John Blumberg Softball Complex will host both men’s and women’s softball for the 2017 Canada Summer Games. It is located just outside the Winnipeg perimeter, 25 minutes from the city’s centre. The complex opened in 1990 as a 4-diamond lighted facility and has since expanded to seven diamonds. The complex has been home to several Canadian championships as well as the softball competition of the 1999 Pan American Games.
The two feature diamonds, diamonds 1 and 2, are located around a central pavilion and the bleacher seating can accommodate up to 2,500 spectators. The natural turf fields, with outfield fences, regulation-size backstops, and team dugouts make this an outstanding softball facility.
