Helps in the commissioning and decommissioning of technology equipment – work starts prior to Games time. Assists in maintaining technology equipment during Games.   

 

At technology Operations Centre

Tech Support Crew - Mobile

Duties: This position provides support for the IT functions at any of the venues. If required the representative will call upon 2nd level IT support available from the equipment suppliers. In an emergency may be required to fill in as a Venue Tech Support.

  • Assisting with daily IT equipment setup
  • Basic network troubleshooting
  • Printer support including changing consumables (toner etc.)
  • Basic radio support including level one troubleshooting
  • Providing user support and basic training
  • Providing Venue Help Desk phone support

Skills:  Familiarity of cell phones, radios, computers, printers (and Multi-function Devices), and networks. Must have a valid driver's license.

Help Desk Supervisor   

Duties: This position provides supervision and support for all IT volunteers in a variety of roles.

  • Operating as part of an Operations Centre team
  • Ensuring scheduled IT volunteers are available or covered
  • Providing daily Help Desk start up/End of Day requirements are met
  • Elevating problems to the required problem resolution area (Vendor Support, GOP)
  • Attend daily status meetings
  • Coordinate and Supervise Mobile Tech Crew
  • Prepare daily status updates

Skills: Supervisory experience. Familiarity of cell phones, radios, computers, printers (and Multi-function Devices), and networks.

Supervisor

Duties: This position provides supervision and support for all IT volunteers in a variety of roles.

  • Operating as part of a Games Commissioning team
  • Ensuring scheduled IT volunteers are available or covered
  • Providing daily start up/End of Day requirements are met
  • Elevating problems to the required problem resolution area (GOP,CWG IT Help desk)
  • Attend daily status meetings
  • Prepare daily status updates

At technology Commissioning Centre

Tech Support Crew

Duties: The main responsibilities for this position will be the commissioning/ decommissioning (setup and recovery) of technology equipment within all venues. This position also provides support for the IT functions at any of the venues.

  • Responsible for initial IT equipment setup
  • Testing of all IT equipment after setup
  • Responsible for recovery of IT equipment from Venues and delivering equipment to the Warehouse or another Venue according to instructions

Skills:  Familiarity with Games computer configuration, radio configuration, and printer connectivity and configuration. General familiarity of cell phones, radios, computers, printers (and Multi-function Devices), and networks. Must have a valid driver's license.
