The University of Manitoba Stadium will host athletics events at the 2017 Canada Summer Games. Originally constructed for the 1967 Pan American Games, it has hosted countless competitions including the 1995 Royal Canadian Legion Youth Championships, 1999 Pan American Games, 2005 Jeux de la Francophonie canadienne, and the 2005 Canadian Track and Field Championships.

The 2017 Canada Games will serve as a catalyst for a series of major upgrades both on and off the field of play, including resurfacing the track, upgrades to the field disciplines competition areas, and a variety of other modernizations to deliver an exceptional athlete experience for years to come.

Features

The field of play at University Stadium is sheltered from the wind by the bowl-shaped exterior, and includes a 400-metre, 8-lane track, hurdles and sprinting area, steeplechase, discus, high jump, pole vault, hammer, shot put, long and triple jump and javelin areas.
