Provides support services and oversees volunteer best practices to Games-time volunteers during the event.  

 

Volunteer Accreditation Centre

Clothing Distribution Crew

Duties: Distributes clothing to accredited volunteers; records distribution in GEMS Pro; movement of stock from storage to distribution point.

Skills: Familiarity with computers, some lifting and carrying may be required.

Moderate Physical Activity.

Welcome Crew

Duties: This role will provide administrative support to the staff and volunteers at the Volunteer and Accreditation Centre.  Duties may include: Providing front-line reception service, responding to inquiries, greeting and welcoming in-person visitors. This role will interact with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Skills: Personable and able to communicate with a diverse group of individuals.

Low Physical Activity.

Duties: Supervises the welcoming crew and clothing distribution volunteers

Venues

Crew

Duties: This position will be responsible for the volunteer lounge at a particular venue. This may include check in / check out of all volunteers, responsible for general cleanliness and tidying of volunteer lounge, ensuring volunteer care and comfort needs are met, etc.

  • Check in / out of volunteers
  • Ensuring the volunteer lounge is well stocked and clean
  • Assisting the Volunteer Venue Rep with duties as assigned

Skills: Personable and attention to detail

Supervisor

Duties: This position is responsible for:

  • Supervising volunteer services volunteers ensuring crew duties are being performed
  • Assist individuals with resolving problems associated with accreditation, access and issuance of day passes.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate records for all day pass requests and all day passes issued.
  • Supporting access control personnel with accreditation pass interpretation

Skills: Supervisory experience, personable.

Forks Festival

Crew

Duties: Support all volunteer on-site services including accreditation, check in, meals, uniforms, works schedules, etc.

Skills:

  • Good people and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a strong, but pleasant presence amongst a crowd
  • Able to sustain energy for long, late hours

Supervisor

Duties:

  • Support Festival Site Manager and other festival contract and volunteer leads
  • Supervise volunteer services crew.
  • Responsible for crew scheduling and training
  • Assist individuals with resolving problems associated with accreditation, access and issuance of day passes.

Skills: Previous managerial or supervisory role in a festival setting.  Ability to follow instructions as well as work independently. Make quick decisive decisions in a fast pace working environment.

Recruitment Centre

Crew

Duties: This position is responsible for conducting and tracking volunteer interviews, reference checks and additional qualifications. This position also includes greeting the public and other clerical duties

Skills: Knowledge of computers, customers service, maintain a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail.

Supervisor

Duties: This position is responsible for supervising the Recruitment Center crew and ensuring daily duties are performed.

Skills: Leadership skills, Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, customer service, maintain high levels of confidentiality, knowledge of computers, ability to multi task.

 

Orientation

Volunteer Orientation Trainer

Duties: This position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing Volunteer Orientation session. Must be available evenings and weekends.

Skills: Strong Communication and public speaking skills, computer knowledge, organized.
