Whittier Park will host baseball at the 2017 Canada Summer Games. The main site of Winnipeg’s Festival du Voyageur and home to Fort Gibraltar, the 15 hectare park is located in the heart of St. Boniface, sometimes referred to as the French Quarter of Winnipeg. The baseball field is home of the St. Boniface/St. Vital baseball league and has hosted a number of provincial baseball events for teams in midget all the way to senior level.
Whittier Park is a fully fenced, lit field that can accommodate up to 500 spectators. The field measures 400 feet to centre field and 330 feet down either foul line. The diamonds will undergo a number of renovations to improve the facility including spectator seating, a scoreboard and lighting upgrades for the Games.
