The Red River Exhibition Park will host the criterium cycling event at the 2017 Canada Summer Games. The Park will provide a flat but challenging course. The race style and tactics of a criterium are much different from other road racing events: tight corners, speed, strategy, attacks, breakaways, and a sprint finish make it a very exciting race.

Birds Hill Provincial Park is located 24 kilometres north of Winnipeg on Highway 59, and covers approximately 8300 acres (35.1 square kilometres). This popular site for beachgoers, hikers, cyclists, and those who love the outdoors stages the Winnipeg Folk Festival and numerous campers in the summer seasons.  The park hosted the 1998 Canadian Triathlon Championships and the road cycling, triathlon, and equestrian competitions during the 1999 Pan American Games.
