Countdown to the 2019 Games
(Red Deer, Alberta) - In 365 days, the largest multi-sport and cultural event for youth in the nation kicks off in Red Deer. From February 15 until March 3, 2019, the 2019 Canada Winter Games welcomes up to 3,600 participants from over 800 communities across Canada competing for gold in 19 sports.
Earlier today the Host Society announced the launch of the online volunteer application portal and welcomed eight new organizations as sponsors of the 2019 Games.

Our team has worked extremely hard with the Canada Games Council to raise the profile of the Canada Games nationally and securing a National Partner as iconic as Tim Hortons shows the level of interest in the Canada Games property and the 2019 Games is high.”
Tim Hortons is the presenting sponsor of the 2019 Canada Winter Games’ volunteer program. Today, the 2019 Games’ volunteer application portal went live at canadagames.ca/2019/volunteer.

The Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce also joins the Games sponsor roster as a Bronze Sponsor.

The Ponoka Stampede Association, in partnership with the Town of Ponoka, was announced as the latest municipal partner to join the 2019 Games sponsor roster.

The day was capped off with an evening celebration at Bower Ponds, presented by the Co-operators. The milestone celebration featured interactive sport and arts activities from local organizations, free skate rentals and refreshments, a DJ, fireworks and appearances by Waskasoo, the 2019 Games mascot, presented by Riverside Dental Centre.
