Great Chief Park
During week one of the 2019 Canada Winter Games, long track speed skating takes place at Great Chief Park on the outdoor oval.
Great Chief Park is Red Deer’s premier outdoor sports park. It contains two baseball diamonds, two fastball diamonds, a combined soccer/football field, the Kiwanis Picnic Site, a 10-hole pitch n’ putt, horseshoe pits, as well as various support facilities and park amenities. Great Chief Park reopened to the public in winter 2018, featuring a synthetic sports field for spring and summer activities as well as a 400m speed skating oval to be used in winter.
Parking and transit
