Evan Johnston

Evan Johnston completed his studies in the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba in 2002 where he made the Dean’s Honor list graduating in the top 10% of his graduating class. He also won the Max Kaplan Prize for the highest standing student in Business Planning & Finance Law and captured the Sarah Moses Cohen Prize as the highest standing student in International Law. Johnston started his professional career in the United Nations Internship Programme, which later led him to a career as an Associate Lawyer for numerous law practice programs. In 2009, he joined the Forzani group as the Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Johnston led the legal and price representation teams and also managed all aspects of the sale of Forzani to Canadian Tire. An ironman triathlete himself, Johnston has a special appreciation for the development of Sport in Canada and looks forward to working closely with the other Canada Games Council Board members as they continue to help build the Canada Games property.
