In recognition of the belief that good sport can make a great difference, the Niagara 2022 Host Society has declared the 2022 Canada Summer Games a True Sport event.

The Niagara 2022 Host Society is thrilled to reveal the official schedule and some of the headline performers for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games’ 13 For 13 Cultural Festival. Held from August 7 to 20 in a different Niagara municipality each evening, the 13 For 13 Cultural Festival will see performances from various headliners including Scott Helman (seven-time JUNO award nominee), The Trews (six-time JUNO award nominee), Said The Whale (JUNO award-winning band), and Susan Aglukark (four-time JUNO award winner).

The Niagara 2022 Host Society is excited to reveal the artist lineup for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games. Specifically, on August 6 at 8:00pm at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines, Tim Hicks and POESY will help celebrate the commencement of the 2022 Canada Games by performing at the Opening Ceremony. Two weeks later, guitarist of The Tragically Hip, Paul Langlois, will join POESY as the musical acts of the Closing Ceremony, which is an event that will be open to the public on August 21 at 8:30pm at Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls.

Today, at Ravine Vineyards in St. Davids, the Niagara 2022 Host Society, along with the Canada Games Council (CGC), the Indigenous Partnership Council (IPC) and Teck Resources Limited, revealed the medal design of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games as part of the event’s 100-day-out countdown celebrations. The medal, which was designed by local artist Shaun O’Melia, captures the beauty and history of the Niagara Region, while also recognizing the up-and-coming Canadian athletes who will be participating in the 28th edition of the Canada Games.

Today marked the official grand opening of Canada Games Park and the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre.A legacy project for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games, Canada Games Park is located at the corner of Merrittville Highway and Sir Isaac Brock Way in Thorold, Ontario, and is home to new state-of-the-art sport facilities. This facility will be the main venue for a majority of the competitions throughout the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games, running from August 6-21.

With less than a month to go until the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games, the Host Society is thrilled to reveal the full IllumiNATION Festival lineup and programming schedule from February 19 - March 4 at Port Charlottetown and various partner venues across the province.

To celebrate Family Literacy Day, the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games Host Society in partnership with the PEI Literacy Alliance, is pleased to announce the public launch of the Canada Games for Literacy donation program, in support of children’s literacy in PEI.

After many years of planning, the town of North Rustico reached a historic milestone today with the opening of Eliyahu Wellness Centre at Canada Games Place. A legacy project of the 2023 Canada Winter Games, the new facility will play host to Short Track Speed Skating and Figure Skating competitions during the two weeks of the Games.

To celebrate “One Month to Go” from the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games, the Host Society revealed its design for the hard-earned medals that over 2,500 young athletes will be competing for.
