
The Canada Games Council, together with the Aboriginal Sport Circle and the Coaches Association of Canada, is pleased to announce the participants selected for the 2025 Aboriginal Apprentice Coach Program. The Program offers each province and territory an opportunity to send two apprentice coaches of First Nations, Metis, or Inuit ancestry to the Canada Games.

A volunteer for the PEI 2023 Canada Games Host Society, Bruce Donaldson was recently named the 2023 Volunteer of the Year by Sport Tourism Canada.

One of Canada’s most successful multi-sport athletes, double-Olympic gold medalist Heather Moyse, a 1997 Canada Games alumnus in athletics, has represented Canada internationally in bobsleigh, rugby and track cycling. Five years ago in Sochi, the Summerside, PEI, native, won her second straight Olympic bobsled gold medal with pilot Kaillie Humphries.
