The Canada Games Council (CGC) is committed to ensure the Canada Games Reflect Canada’s Diversity. We recognize that the Canada Games play a crucial role in reflecting the rich diversity of Canada. Our aim is to ensure that every person sees themselves represented in the Games and feels a deep sense of belonging.
READ OUR SOCIAL INCLUSION STRATEGY.
Take Action to Increase Diversity:
We are steadfast in our commitment, and will annually review existing strategies and programs, and consider new and innovative opportunities to increase diversity in the Canada Games by engaging staff, volunteers, F-P/T Governments, the Sport Community, Host Societies and partners.
Monitor and Report:
We pledge to consistently measure and publicly disclose our data and progress towards
increasing diversity in the Canada Games, ensuring transparency and accountability in our efforts, every 4 years (2 Canada Games).
Lead by Example:
We will lead by example, with consistency and innovation, inspiring collaboration and action within Canada’s sports system through our own initiatives and practices.
Forge Relationships:
To augment our impact, in addition to the initiatives embedded in our programming within our resources, we will actively seek new funding and resource opportunities to advance this strategy. Further, the CGC will foster collaboration among athletes, coaches, fans,
host societies, corporate sponsors, non-profits, academics, and all partner groups to amplify and accelerate progress towards inclusion across the sports community.
