Today the 2019 Canada Winter Games Host Society provided a Community Update to government representatives, local sports leaders and members of the media at the Collicutt Centre. The Community Update featured the introduction of the 2019 Games Senior Leadership Team, the announcement of the sport schedule and the presentation of the 2019 Games logo.

In a celebration of collaboration today, the 2019 Canada Winter Games Host Society, The City of Red Deer and Red Deer College signed a Partnership Agreement for the 2019 Canada Winter Games. During the Partnership Agreement Signing Ceremony, the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre / Centre des Jeux Canada Gary W. Harris was revealed as the legacy name for Red Deer College’s future health, wellness and sport facility.

Today marked the kickoff of the Parallel Giant Slalom race at the 2023 Canada Games in Brookvale, where the focus shifted from airborne tricks in the slopestyle event - a day earlier - to who can hold the fastest line. Riders navigated their way through a series of 19 gates, alternating between the blue and red course throughout the day.
