The Canada Games Council (CGC) has announced the Canada Games Activity Challenge as a Canada 150 Signature Project, supporting children and teachers in Canadian classrooms to build daily active healthy habits. The Canada Games Council has received formal notification from the Canada 150 Secretariat that its 2017 interactive activity program created to engage children aged 5-12 has been approved as one of the 41 Canada 150 Signature Projects celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary.

Team N.L. had not one, not two, not three, but four different family ties on their squad. Twin sisters Julia and Kayla MacKinnon, brothers Elliot and Jack Sampson, brothers Alex and Jack Kennedy and finally the mother-son duo of Raeleen and Gavin Baggs.

They come from a land of ice and snow, so when it’s time for sport, Team Nunavut heads indoors to the badminton court.Nine young indigenous athletes make up the Nunavut badminton team, from communities thousands of kilometres apart. Now 10,000 kilometres of travel away from home, they have come together at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta.
