The Canada Games Council (CGC) has named Québec as the official Host city of the 2027 Canada Winter Games, marking a return to the birthplace of the Canada Games 60 years after the inaugural event held in 1967.

Famed marathon swimmer and lifelong coach Vicki Keith is a deserving member of many halls of fame, including the Terry Fox Hall of Fame, the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame, the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, and finally, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

Since 1984, 263 Canada Games alumni have gone on to compete at the Paralympic Games and have won a combined 60 Gold medals, 43 Silver Medals, and 43 Bronze medals. Brittany Hudak, who competed at the 2015 Canada Games in Prince George, BC for Team Saskatchewan in Cross Country Skiing, went on to compete in the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games and the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games where she brought home a Bronze medal for Canada.

CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND – Four speed skating athletes – short trackers Courtney Charlong (NB) and Akutaq Williamson-Bathory (NU), as well as long trackers Sofia Bieber (MB) and Luca Veeman (SK) – had the privilege of carrying their respective provincial or territorial flag into the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Canada Winter Games on Saturday night.
