The Canada Games Council (CGC) has enacted a contingency travel plan to ensure all Week 1 participants at the St. John’s 2025 Canada Games are able to return home, and all Week 2 participants are able to arrive in and return from St. John’s. Only two jurisdictions were previously scheduled to fly with Air Canada, being Ontario and Quebec.
In addition to our athletes, coaches, and managers, approximately 100 Major Technical Officials from across Canada have flights that are also impacted by the strike action, with similar contingencies enacted to ensure Officials are in place for Week 2 sport competition.
We acknowledge and appreciate the support of family, friends, and fans traveling to St. John’s for the 2025 Canada Games. The travel of these individuals is entirely out of the control of the Canada Games Council, and will be up to those individuals to identify alternate travel arrangements if they are impacted by the Air Canada strike action.
