Today, in the late afternoon at North Rustico Canada Games Centre, Maddox Glover of Conception Bay South won gold in Mens Figure Skating - Special Olympic Level II

Coming in to the games, Maddox’s goal was to have a personal best skate , and to enjoy the experience.

His goals were not only achieved, but surpassed, as he skated to gold in his event.

Maddox Glover is a 13-year-old eighth grade student at Villanova Junior High in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador.

He skates with the Prince of Wales Skating Club, and is coached by Jenna Hillyard. Maddox has been skating since he was 4 years old, and he is the current provincial champion for Men’s Special Olympics Level II for the province.

As Maddox was leaving the ice after his routine, he proudly declared “This is the best moment of my life”.
